Top Telugu Supernatural Horror Movies to Watch on OTT This Year

There are lots of Telugu horror flicks available on OTT this year if you enjoy spooky settings and terrifying tales. These films blend suspense and terror with hauntings and poignant stories. A woman tries to protect her daughter from a malevolent spirit in Masooda. Pindam is a much simpler ghost story, which is unlike Polimera 2 which explores dark magic and hidden family dynamics. If you enjoy Telugu horror movies, you should not miss these thrillers.

Masooda (2022)

Masooda was released in November 2022 in Telugu cinema. It shows how much courage a mother has when combating supernatural threats to protect her loved ones. Director Sai Kiran combines horror with strong emotions, making a frightening but heartwarming film that is different from other Telugu horror films with excellent acting and narration.

Neelam, a single mother, resides with her teenage daughter Nazia. Their serene life takes a turn for the worse when Nazia begins acting weirdly and frighteningly. Caring for her daughter, Neelam seeks assistance from her bashful neighbour, Gopi, an IT professional.

Together, they find that Masooda Bi’s vengeful ghost haunts Nazia. They seek advice from Rizwan Baba, a ghost expert who knows how to deal with ghosts. The team then collaborates in resisting evil powers and finding the secrets.

Polimera 2 (2023)

The film was released in 2023 on November 3 by Anil Vishwanath, and it is a mix of mystery and drama. It depicts the power of family and the struggle between good and evil. In the peaceful village of Jastipalli, the police officer Jangaiah searches for his lost brother, Komaraiah. While searching for clues, he learns that the town is infused with black magic and ancient rituals. He works together with Komaraiah’s wife, Lachimi, who is thoroughly concerned, and their friendly neighbour, Balija.

They make connections between peculiar incidents in the village and a forgotten temple in relation to Kerala’s renowned Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple. Jangaiah learns his brother had been indulging in degrading magic culture.

In a moving confrontation that ends the film, mystical powers come together to bring peace back to the village. The film is a testament to the storytelling prowess that Telugu cinema carries.

Pindam (2023)

In the 1990s, Anthony gets a new house along with his pregnant wife, Mary, their two daughters, and his mother. Instead of experiencing peace, they discover that their house carries dark secrets -bizarre sounds, darkness, and overwhelming sadness in the air.

Their youngest child, Tara, who is mute, appears to feel something that the family does not see. She communicates with an invisible spirit that wishes to be heard. Filled with terror, Anthony sought the assistance of Annamma. She tells them about the house’s troubled past and the ongoing pain of a mother. The family went through some terrible things, but they also got better.

At last, the spirit finds tranquillity, turning a haunting house into a joyful one. Saikiran Daida is the director of the horror drama Pindam, which is based on actual incidents.
